When Ophir Farm Estates needed HOA community signs in Westchester County, NY, a representative contacted our sign shop for assistance. We worked with the client on developing a design, which would underscore the location’s brand message. Because we used custom-routed and painted PVC for the signage, it is durable, maintains its great looks for years, and assists with brand building and wayfinding.
Why HOA Need Community Signs Are Important
The primary reason for a community sign is the identification of the covenant-controlled area. Since buying homes in these communities opens the door to various amenities and privileges, it makes sense to advertise the boundaries. Moreover, an HOA that promotes residential openings relies on name and logo recognition to fill them.
There are several different types of community signs our shop can put together.
- PVC. Take a page from Ophir Farm Estates’ playbook, and choose PVC. The material is durable, suitable for painting, and waterproof. Most importantly, our team can use the router or apply three-dimensional letters.
- Acrylic. When you have an ornamental wall space that you would like to cover with the sign, we recommend a clear acrylic panel with a vinyl overlay. It allows the great look of the backdrop to shine through while the letter colors contrast.
- Metal. For a chic display, you cannot go wrong with brushed metal. Aluminum is a favorite, but we can also put together brass and bronze plaques. Choose from cast or etched plaques to see your information displayed.
- HDU. High-density urethane is a human-made material that is suitable for sandblasting and carving. For a community that appeals to artists and families with young children, the opportunity to add depth and bright colors is too good to pass up.
Other HOA Signs
Of course, we also specialize in designing, producing, and installing the other signs your HOA might need. For example, you may require signage to address parking issues. If you offer amenities that include a pool or spa, it is critical to post safety rules and alert residents that there will be no lifeguard on duty. Moreover, choose signage to communicate pool hours and any age restrictions you might impose.
Typically, HOA representatives request these functional signs to be chic and durable; at the same time, they do not need to have the stunning displays of a community sign. Therefore, we recommend the use of Dibond, which consists of two aluminum panels that sandwich a polystyrene core. These signs are lightweight, look good, and easily withstand the weather.
Some HOAs had excellent success with reflective vinyl for areas that residents might access after dark. Examples include parking lights and security checkpoint instructions. When the driver shines the car’s headlights on these markers, the reflective vinyl causes the information to display brightly.
